I Am Still Learning
About three years ago I open “Craft From My Heart” http://www.craftfrommyheart.com Since then I have learned many ways to help my business but I also learned that you have to be careful what you do. Some of you might be just starting out in the business field. Whether it would be something you have created or just sell for someone else to make a profit.
When I first enter into business I was determine to learn everything I could to build my business and make it successful. I didn’t even know much about using a computer, but I did know how to type. I found out that I had a program to correct my spelling. This is very important when you have a business you don’t want someone reading about your business and finding typing errors.
I had to look into ways that I could sell what I made and get customer. I didn’t want to spend money when I wasn’t making any. I knew I had to invest in something that I thought would help and that was a newsletter. I can’t stress that enough.
Learning the codes to be able to upload your banner these answer for me came from forums in which I have meant so many lovely people that are willing to help you.
I needed a website to load my pictures so I could make slides. I also found those answers there .One thing for sure when someone does something for you return the favor.
I wanted to make my page interested so I brought graphics to use from my host. This year I finally invested in having a graphic design custom make my graphics. I than had to find out about keywords and where I needed them. I would search and find free places to type in my website and in return I would find out what were good and bad about my pages. I would link with anyone that was related to my type of business since this was free. I couldn’t afford to advertise in this big magazine so I would link with the shoppers that did. I finally invested in a plug for plug boards and added one to my Shoppe http://www.craftfrommyheart.com/plugboard.html. I would spend nights plugging away. I join top sites and even have my own now http://craftfrommyheart.gotop100.com/ When I started to receive sales. I would take the money and start to advertise with different places. But first I would see what I would find reasonable. I than became a partner with another business which in turn they would advertise my shop in her shop as long as you have a page for there business. There is good and bad in this. When you become a partner with another company there is rules. One of the rules was that I could not advertise another business related to there business on my main page.
I than had an idea to start a page on my website to advertise my business and others by making a page that would work like a chain. This was working out nicely, we were advertising on each others shop. What I didn’t know about this even though I had this page on my shop I had given it a name. Well right under my nose the name was taking and register as there domain. So this was no longer mind. This was a good lesson for me.
Next I did my blog http://craftfrommyheart.blogspot.com/and wondered how can I get people to come to my blog and then to my shop. I decide to give crafting tips. What I am trying to point out here is you can never stop learner about running a business. Right here at this network I will learn so much more. Now that traffic exchanges are here and networks are every where and then twitter and Entrecard I am working on organizing my time to try to use these places to the fullest
